Winter is coming...

For those that don't know this "winter is coming" is the catch phrase for the Starks in the book Game of Thrones!! Yes Murray and I have been engrossed in this book (series!) for literally months now. The joys of finding out about a book years after the first one was written - means no pause required while the writer thinks up somehting new or unblocks themself!
Anyway all good here and not too wintery yet (only a couple of frost so far) just dull days. Who would have thought that the sun could remain so low in the sky at lunchtime?? The nights are drawing in though and walking Bramble now involves a torch and a flashing collar light to see which way the dog went. Does lead to some amusing moments however, with one cyclist getting a hell of a fright when I turned round and bellowed "GO HOME" at him thinking he was the farm dog come to harrass us again! Probably wont cycle that way again for a while.
So what have we been up to?? Not much. Plenty of walking and Murray bought a cheap bike so excercise isn't an issue. We occasionally take a stroll past one of the local pubs as well and enjoy a few warm ones by the fire... special treat for Bramble to be able to stake out a table and launch lightening raids on other dogs as they stroll by! No to be fair she is trying (very at times!) and is fine out and about its just close quarters that drive her nuts - has developed COGS (Cranky Old Girl Syndrome) due to the colder weather perhaps?!
We are also working hard on the boat. She has already had a bit of a interior makeover with a respray of her window trims and new curtains. we are also having an arch made for a 130W solar panel and new rutland wind generator. Add to this list the installation of a holding tank, insulation for the cabin top, soundproofing, new shelves, new standing and running rigging, replacement saildrive gaiter, a kiwi prop and rope cutter as well as a few other minor jobs and it all adds up to plenty of dosh and a fairly natty looking yacht.
So that's what is new here... and just over a month to Christmas... ho ho ho!!
